Is Meteor Client free?
Yes. Meteor Client is completely free and open source. There are no paid tiers, no ads and no account required to download or use it.
Why did you switch from a .jar mod to an .exe installer?
The old .jar method frequently caused dependency conflicts with mod loaders and other mods. Our new all-in-one .exe installer bundles every dependency at the correct version and sets everything up automatically, so installation just works.
Why does my antivirus or Windows Defender flag the installer?
This is a false positive. Because Meteor modifies the Minecraft client, security software often flags modding installers as suspicious even when they are completely safe. We recommend temporarily disabling your antivirus or adding an exclusion while you install, then re-enabling it afterwards.
Is Meteor Client safe to download?
Yes. The entire codebase is open source and publicly auditable, with no hidden telemetry or bundled software. You can always check the current build health on our status page.
Is Meteor Client detected?
The current build is reported as undetected. We monitor detection continuously and push updates quickly when anything changes — see the status page for the latest.
Which Minecraft version do I need?
The latest installer targets Minecraft 1.21.x on Windows. The installer will guide you through selecting the right profile in your launcher.
How do I install it?
Download the .exe installer, run it, and follow the on-screen prompts. Then launch the Meteor profile from your Minecraft launcher. Our install guide walks through every step.
Do I still need a mod loader or Baritone separately?
No. Everything required is bundled inside the installer, so you no longer need to manually set up loaders or dependencies.
